ABOUT OUR FAMILY

Our Family came to America from Italy around 1890. The family business in Italy was bread baking, so naturally we continued the business here in America. In the true tradition of America being a cultural melting pot, our family learned bagel baking from the Jewish community  in NYC. 
Today, Sclafani's New York Bagels & Sandwiches is a blend of Italian bread baking, Jewish bagel making and authentic New York sandwiches. 
Many enjoy our stories, turn-of-the century feel and authentic NYC staples.
